NDF intends to expand activities as personnel, resources and funds permits. Our prioritize
plans for 2008 includes -
Establishing or supporting a peripatetic Mother and Child Health program by working with and
developing skills of traditional birth attendants and traditional practitioners. Thereby, monitoring
child and maternal health and providing health education especially on HIV/AIDS. Objectives
include reducing mother-to-baby transmission and increasing the supply of anti-retroviral drugs
to children.
Develop and produce an informative film or movie focus on health issues such as HIV/AIDS
preventive methods. Seek funding and support for this project utilizing local artists, dialects and
locations for filming scenes for instant recognition and identification.
Construct two community multifunction halls at Warri, Delta State and Calabar, Cross Rivers
State. These community halls would include a Learning Resource Center and a Main Hall with
media facilities for the benefit of the whole community. The media room will be used to show
NDF community short stories on various issues affecting the local region.
Organize annual fund raising events, enabling us to send to the region a 20foot container load
of medicines and educational items which will be distributed to the most remote and deprived
areas.
Organize periodical forum for bringing together all tribal group leaders for cooperative dialog
that would encourage peaceful coexistence.
